Sharing Live Location Using Google Maps

  1. Open Google Maps: Launch the Google Maps app on your Android device.
  2. Access Location Sharing: Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner and select “Location Sharing”​​.
  3. Choose Duration: Decide how long you want to share your location. You can select a specific duration, like an hour, or opt for “Until You Turn This Off” for indefinite sharing​​.
  4. Select Recipient: Choose a Google contact or swipe left on the contact list and tap “More” for additional options​​.
  5. Share Your Location: After choosing a contact, tap “Share.” The recipient can view your location using Google Maps on their device​​.
  6. Stop Sharing: To end location sharing, tap the contact’s name and choose “Stop”​​.

Sharing Location via Messaging Apps

  • WhatsApp:
    • Open a chat, tap the attachment icon, and choose ‘Location.’
    • Select ‘Share live location’ and choose the duration.
    • Recipients receive a message with your location data, viewable on WhatsApp​​.
  • Google Messages:
    • Open Google Messages and start a conversation.
    • Tap the ‘+’ button and select ‘Location.’
    • Send your current location or choose from nearby points of interest.
    • The recipient receives a Google Maps link to your current coordinates​​.

Sharing Location on Telegram and WhatsApp

  1. WhatsApp:
    • Open WhatsApp and select the conversation.
    • Tap the attachment icon, choose ‘Location,’ and then ‘Share live location.’
    • Set the duration for location sharing. To stop, select ‘Stop sharing’ in WhatsApp​​.
  2. Telegram:
    • Open a conversation in Telegram.
    • Tap the attachment icon and select ‘Location.’
    • Choose ‘Send my current location’ or ‘Share My Live Location for’ a specified time​​.
